Understand the heart of the PEGA platform — the case. Almost everything built in PEGA revolves around cases, and this module teaches you how to design them correctly from the very start, mapping real business processes into structured, manageable application workflows.

You will start by learning what cases are in PEGA and why the case management model is central to how the platform works. From there you will design case types that define the different kinds of work your application handles, and map case lifecycles — stages, steps, and processes — that reflect how work actually moves through an organisation.

The module covers configuring primary and child cases for complex, multi-level work management, understanding case statuses, urgency, and service-level agreements, and designing assignment routing that gets the right work to the right person at the right time. You will also learn how to build optional and required stages that introduce flexibility without losing structure, and how to configure parallel processing that runs multiple case paths simultaneously to reduce resolution time.
